Museum of Living Art - Fort Worth Zoo
Fort Worth, Texas
The Museum of Living Art ascends out of a landscape of native grasses and canyons. Limestone walls replicate the striation of the canyon, while steel beams and metal roofs rise and fall in soft waves. The line between inside and outside and the enclosure between animal and human is blurred. The museum collects people and 900 animals into one environment, providing homes for 165 amphibian and reptile species. The herpetarium is the new home to an 18-foot crocodile and gharials, which will swim to a 2” thick glass and observe people at dinner in the Zoo Cafe.
