    Alice E. Carlson School,
Additions and Alterations
Fort Worth, Texas

The Applied Learning Center is a school of choice open to all students in the district. The center offers a curriculum organized and focused on the types of thinking required for students to succeed in both the academic world and the world of work. This Fort Worth Independent School District bond project has a State of Texas Archeological Site Designation. This project consisted of a 6,000 square foot addition and a 500 square foot renovation. It included a new gymnasium with toilets, Physical Education Teacher offices, ADA/TAS upgrades to two existing toilets and a nurse’s station. The new addition is in-keeping with Texas Historical Commission Guidelines and was recognized with a Preservation Honor Award by Historic Fort Worth in 2005.
