Walsh Theater — Texas Christian University

This 56,000-square-foot building showcases a new 233-seat flexible theater, which is asymmetrical with a flexible side that allows it to be used in varied, three-dimensional arrangements. The new 325-seat PepsiCo Recital Hall provides an intimate setting for solo and small ensemble performances, and features a unique “shell within a shell” construction to provide optimal acoustics and aesthetic appeal.

The theater center also includes a 175-seat “black box” studio theater with an expanded scene shop, choral and instrumental rehearsal rooms, a piano instruction and rehearsal wing, and state-of-the-art practice and support facilities. The lobby connects classrooms and rehearsal spaces to the new public performance areas and the existing Ed Landreth Hall facilities. The exterior massing and materials complement the existing palette of the campus while projecting an image of the new, revitalized performing arts program.
