BNSF
Railway
Fort Worth, Texas
Since 1992, BNSF has been consolidating its headquarters departments and its Network Operations Center into a group of buildings forming a campus-like setting in north Forth Worth, Texas.
This project represented a significant shift in the way the railroad was managed - using technology to consolidate and reduce field-based dispatching and greight office functions. It successfully proceeded during a corporate-wide initiative to reduce headcount, the merger with Santa Fe, and significant subsequent changes in senior management. Along with providing programming, planning, interior and architectural design for the entire campus, Gideon Toal has been responsible for the landscape architecture and site planning for BNSF’s headquarters complex since the project’s inception in 1992. Campus includes: Network Operations Center, Marketing and Administration Building, Information Systems Operations Center, Telecommunications Network Operations Center, Visitors Center and Railroad Museum, Customer Service and Support Center
Employee Center, Parking Garage.
