Baylor All Saints Oncology
Fort Worth, Texas
Baylor All Saints Medical Center at Fort Worth constructed a new oncology unit. This 27 bed clinical unit provides treatment for patients undergoing cancer treatment. The unit is designed to accommodate acutely ill patients who remain in the hospital for a significant amount of treatment procedures. Each room is slightly oversized to accommodate the patient and includes a small sitting/sleeping area for a family member or caregiver. The patients and families will be provided with an education center, private consultation rooms and family waiting areas.
The centrally located nurses’ station allows direct visual and physical access to each patient room and is enclosed with glass separation panels to allow verbal privacy within the nurses’ station. The Oncology Unit also houses a separate outpatient infusion unit. This unit contains a private medicine room and is separated by glass so that staff may visually supervise treatment of up to 13 patients.
