Bennett Benner Pettit has been responsible for the landscape architecture and site planning for BNSF’s headquarters complex since the project’s inception in 1992. Located on 190 acres of natural prairie north of the city, the Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) campus encompasses a wide range of landscape conditions. Future building sites are planted with a mix of prairie grasses and wildflowers, while areas adjacent to buildings are kept in irrigated turf grass that provides a seamless transition from building environment to prairie savanna. In addition the firm has provided programming, planning, interior and architectural design for the entire campus.
